Ecological diversity is how many different types of organisms there are in a given ecosystem. For example, coral reefs have numerous species of fish, crab, sea slugs, corals, and many more, meaning that they have high ecological diversity. Having high ecological diversity is important because different species give different benefits to the environment and to humans.
